The pituresque Ile des Moulins houses 3 windmills dating from the 19th century – but in the past housed many more . From about 1720, there was a flour mill and a sawmill. Then were added a carding mill, a fulling mill, a sawmill and a second flour mill. When there was also a forge, a bakery, textile and nail manufacturer, ovens and a cooperage, it was a very productive area!
